Detroit Metal City Announced for Nintendo DS

Twisted | May 31, 2008 | News | DS
The game 'Detroit Metal City' has been announced for the Nintendo DS by D3 Publisher. The game is manga based that has you as a teenager who stops doing pop music for a career in Death Metal. I have no idea why it is called Detroit Metal City when it features you in Tokyo.
The Nintendo DS has many a title from established gaming genres, and seemingly invented a couple of its own along the way. And if there’s anything we’d have wanted players to experience next (we’re sure you’ll agree too), it’s Detroit Metal City, a manga series that D3 Publisher has confirmed will be making the transition to the portable. Head below for details.

Detroit metal City follows the fortunes of a young man who heads for the bright lights of Tokyo, swapping his passion for pop music for a career in Death Metal. The game includes a Quest and Live mode, and is scheduled for release in Japan this August.

Whether it’ll get a localisation is anyone’s guess, but we really do like the sound of it.

Maybe they call it Detroit Metal City because of the name Detroit Rock City. Anyway, it seems they are releasing a lot of music games ever since Guitar Hero became popular.
