After feeling the fierce drop of the post-holiday shopping season, the Japanese market had some life instilled in it due to a new release reaching up to #2 on the charts. Overall, however, it's just mediocre/standard non-holiday numbers that will dominate the next couple weeks until Super Smash Bros. Brawl hits.

Japan's top-seller once again is our favorite non-game, Wii Fit, selling 92k copies. Coming in second is the aforementioned new release, the NDS version of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, with 90k copies. Rounding out the top five are Mario Party DS (NDS - 33k), Wii Sports (WII - 30k), and Monster Hunter Portable 2nd (PSP - 24k).

As for hardware, the numbers are pretty much comparable to last week.

Like last week, there's again not really much to say about this week sales, other than that Wii Fit is still selling pretty well, and first week sales for Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games hit 90k. With the Wii version hanging around 500k, the NDS version should be somewhere above that figure. Also, because of the lower sales, we're seeing more of a variety in the top fifty.
