Media Create 11/26/07 - 12/02/07 Japanese Sales: Professor Layton, Wii Fit on top, Wii doubles PS3

Akira_EX | December 07, 2007 | Industry News | Playstation 2 Playstation 3
This week has six new games reach the top 10, with four of them in the top five. Wii sales have also increased this week, even to the point of outselling the PSP.

The top seller this week is Professor Layton and Pandora's Box for the DS, selling almost 300k units (294k). Next is the latest and most interesting Nintendo casual game for the Wii, Wii Fit, sellilng 261k units. Rounding out the top five are SD Gundam G Generation Spirits (PS2 - 252k), last week's #1, Dragon Quest IV (NDS - 135k), and the PS2 version of Sengoku Basara 2: Heroes (PS2 - 95k)

As for hardware, everything dropped except for the DS Lite and the Wii.
This Week - Last Week: +/-
DSL: 124,981 - 116,694: +8,287
WII: 74,764 - 54,362: +20,402
PSP: 74,626 - 75,027: -401
PS3: 37,092 - 50,564: -13,472
360: 6,632 - 7,117: -485
NDS: 36 - 0: +36
GBA: 33 - 82: -49
NGC: 32 - 44: -12

Steady DS Lite sales can be attributed to the new Professor Layton game that released this week. The same can be said for Wii sales regarding Wii Fit, which has reached that number in a 2-day period, with Wii Fit's Japanese release date being December 1st. Gundam games still prove that they sell in Japan, and Dragon Quest IV is on pace to be the DS's next million seller.

It's also interesting that only the 360 version of Assassin's Creed released this week, since apparently the PS3 version hits January 31st. Unfortunately, it seems that the 360 version of AC didn't push units.

It's the Wii, of course it sells well. It's only $299 after all, and parents are looking for inexpensive gifts for Christmas.

This means nothing to be honest. Although the PS3 didn't dropped that much and its only one week.

Casual gaming is a powerful, economic tool it seems.

And blade, you can't really say that and then be boasting off the weekly sales the PS3 had...that just really doesn't look good on your part, to the already bad reputation you got here.

Im just saying one week doesn't prove anything you know that. If next 3 weeks sony numbers sky-rocket that would mean the first week wasn't anything to go by during the month. And where have i boasted anything on the PS3 sales in Japan. All i said was great job Sony. So i have no clue what your talking about.

Why do you deny what you do only to do it again? This is about Wii sales and you're instead commending Sony about its PS3 sales. You were just saying that this is just the first week, saying that
        quote
the PS3 didn't dropped that much and its only one week.
        Two posts later, you're saying
        quote
        great job Sony.
Make up your mind. You say one thing, deny it, and then contradict yourself.

Read again i was only saying i said great job Sony for the other articles like this. And last time i checked this article was for PS2 and PS3 so basically your point is moot.
Im not contradicting anything, its good to see the Wii sales jump but im not bashing the system. Im commented on the systems that dropped from last week.
