What's surprising in these charts isn't what is #1, but rather, the amount at which the top game sold. Many expected higher, but this is still a decent number for only three-four days of sales.

Topping the chart this week is none other than Super Mario Galaxy for the Nintendo Wii, pushing around 251k units. In the #2 spot is a shocker, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation for the Xbox 360, selling around 77k units. Rounding out the top five are last week's #1, Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift (NDS - 51k), Super Robot Wars Scramble Commander the 2nd (PS2 - 21k) and the DS Literature Collection (NDS - 18k

In terms of hardware, the DS is still outselling the PSP, and the Wii's lead increases again, with a 10k unit increase over last week, most likely due to Super Mario Galaxy. However, the real shocker is the 360's 17,673 versus the PS3's 17,434. Although not by a large margin, the Xbox 360 has outsold the PS3 this week. This can be attributed to Ace Combat 6, The Idolm@ster (A budget re-release?) and Earth Defense Force 3.

Notables:
Wii Sports (Wii) reappears in the top 10 at #7, selling 16k units.
Pokémon Mysterious Dungeon: Time Expedition Party (NDS) continues to be in the top 10 at #10.
Wii Play (Wii) surges up to #12 after being #25 last week.
Ar Tonelico 2 (PS2) after being #2 last week falls to #13
The Idolm@ster (360) budget re-release debuts at #21.
Earth Defense Forces 3 (360) debuts at #29
God of War II (PS2) falls to #36 after being #8 last week.
Imabikisou (PS3) falls to #38 after being #4 last week.
Warioware Smooth Moves (Wii), Phoenix Wright 3 (NDS) and Pokémon Diamond (NDS) all reappear in the top 50.
