Top 10 Reasons SNES Dominated Sega Genesis
"1. Better Games
This is an absolute no-brainer and the number 1 reason why the SNES dominates Sega. Secret of Mana, FF3, Super Metroid, Zelda “Link to the Past”, Chrono Trigger, Illusion of Gaia, Mario Kart, Soul Blazer, Secret of Evermore, Super Mario World, Donkey Kong Country, Yoshi’s Island, Star Fox, ect. And for Sega? Ehhh. Sonic Spinball? This is so obvious it shouldn’t even be argued."

Europe's Gaming Tastes - Apparently
Usually the forgotten continent for gamers, Europe's gaming scene has received some attention in the form of a claim by Forbes that Europe's gamers prefer sports games and - guess what - casual games.
While it comes as no surprise perhaps that football games are more popular in Europe than they are across the Atlantic, what may be slightly more unexpected is that apparently, European players prefer casual games they can pick up, play and put down as they wish on excursions and the like as ...

Top 10 Unexpectedly Scary Gaming Moments
GV remembers some of the games that ended up being far more frightening than they really should have been...
Everyone can remember the most frightening moment they’ve ever had when playing videogames. Whether it was the dogs smashing through the windows in Resident Evil, discovering Dr. Janice Polito in System Shock 2, or exploring Silent Hill’s haunted school, we’ve all got our memories (branded permanently into our subconscious).

8 Overlooked Virtual Console Games That You NEED To Go Buy Now
"Lots of people have already made long, boring lists of the top ten or however many virtual console games. Such lists are packed with games like Super Metroid, Paper Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and Super Mario World. All of these games are undeniably classics, but is it really telling you anything when you read a list like that? You already know that those games are great, and you've probably already played through them all, so why sit there and read an article from some smelly guy who's just ..."

SEGA's ex-poster girl opens a BBQ Restaurant!
A while back, bikini-model and self-proclaimed alien Yuko Ogura was dropped as SEGA's poster girl.
Ogura wasn't as popular as SEGA's previous (and rather busty) poster girl MEGUMI, and she was dumped two years later in exchange for the more demure Satomi Ishihara.
So what has Ogura been doing since then?
She has opened her own chain of Korean BBQ Restaurants. Quite an interesting step for an ex-poster girl and bikini model.

Ten Golden Rules of Videogame Fanboyism
"Ah, fanboys. What industry can truly call itself an industry without them? Those who prove themselves obsessively loyal to any product or corporation can be found among many communities, and nowhere do they flourish more freely than within gamer culture.
Although it may sound ridiculous to normal people, swearing undying allegiance to a heartless box of electrical components is a perfectly rational act in the mind of the fanboy, even though if he defended something like a particular brand ..."

Top 10 Years in Gaming
Of the 30 years that videogames have been running strong, it's always going to be hard to choose a top 10 list. There are always years that are left out even with stellar titles in them, and as much as it pains me to see 2004 and Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 overlooked for their monumental contributions to PC gaming (especially HL2's genius Source engine), I do agree with their number one choice.

10 Greatest Consoles
"10. Nintendo Gamecube
Despite the fact that it looked like a purple lunch box, it's hard to hate on Nintendo's Wii-predecessor with its fantastic video game lineup. We blasted TIE Fighters in Rogue Squadron II, pummeled friends senseless in Super Smash Bros. Melee and sailed the high seas in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker. Gamecube also spurred the release of the wireless Wavebird game pad, one of the best controllers in history.

Petition for Take 2 Games to not sell out to EA!
"We, the fans of Take Two Interactive Software, Inc. (T2) games, object to the idea of Electronics Arts (EA) purchasing T2. For the sake of diversity and variety of choices in the video game industry, we would like the two companies to remain separate. Each of the companies make games that are unique to their respective ways. The fans view the purchase of T2 shares by EA, as jeopardizing to the games made by T2, and would not remain loyal if EA acquired any T2 shares. By signing this petition ..."

Racism in Japanese games? Do Americans find this offensive?
Gaming site "Insert Credit" have recently voiced their disgust at the Japanese game Miburi & Teburi for portraying Americans in a "racist light". Apparently all Americans in the game are all hairy, stupid and say things like "I love Japan. I love Japanese people". (though I must admit, that certainly sounds familiar).
Kotaku's Brian Ashcraft (who is currently living in Japan) felt the need to respond, saying that this SEGA game is no different to many other Japanese TV shows and games who ...

Welcome to the definitive gaming shrine
"Heavily tattooed gaming enthusiast extraordinaire Barry Evans loves everything about videogames. In fact, Barry loves the videogame phenomenon so much that he’s spent most of his life gathering together a collection of gaming goodies so impressive that ‘enthusiast’ simply doesn’t do him justice.

Sonic Chronicles Images!
I was browsing GoNintendo.com for any news of Sonic Chronicles, and I found some images. They gave me a link to see more of them, and I was redirected to some French website where I quickly became more excited for this game than a was before. The game looks great, and some of the background images remind me of old PC-Adventures from the late 80s and early to mid 90s. Get ready!

6 Video Game Gimmicks That Went Away Too Soon (And 6 More That Need to Die)
"Since its birth, video gaming has undergone an incredible evolution, from simple sprites and a ghost-eating Pac-Man to today’s domination of home consoles. After all that time, any gamer who’s worth their weight in rupees will remember (fondly, or otherwise) some once-common sights that went the way of the Virtual GameBoy, never to be seen or heard from again. CRACKED recalls some video-game staples of yesteryear, and admits that, in the end, there are still more of them kicking around than w..."

Well it's time these silent saviors get recognized, so here's the top 5 best supporting characters. They were picked based on personality, in-game presence, and over-all abilit..."
