The good and clean box art of the Atari 2600

Tyranitar24 | 25 days 18 hours ago | News | PC Playstation 3 Misc  | views: 1478
"Before the over the top, logo heavy madness of today’s next-gen masterpieces became the visual norm for video game cover art, there was the basic beauty of the Atari 2600’s approach to package design. Clean composition and vague descriptive text came together to create something that was just so…intangibly fresh and mesmerizing."

Nintendo just aiming for the Casual Gamers?

Tyranitar24 | June 30, 2008 | News | Wii Company  | views: 1973
"With E3 around the corner, everyone can speculate all they want about what’s really coming, but no one knows for sure. Nintendo needs to live up their word of satisfying the “core” gamer. Up until now, they’ve essentially left hardcore gamers on the back burner. Casual is what they’re aiming for, but neglecting those who got you here won’t help.

What bothers me about this is Nintendo’s definition of a “core” gamer. Back in early May, Nintendo Senior Marketing Director in Europe, Laurent Fi..."

Smash Bros Brawl - Is It Really For Girls?

Coltrain | June 29, 2008 | News | Wii  | views: 1596
"There has been a new commerical on Australian TV showing four dazzlingly white toothed, good looking 'Friends' completely immersed in the new Wii game Super Smash Bros Brawl.
Slightly out of focus in back of shot a girl player looks to be having a better time than Meg Ryan at a coffee shop with Tom Hanks. So, we conducted an online battle between Nintendo’s headquarters in Kyoto and the development team in Tokyo. The distance between Kyoto and Tokyo...is nearly the same distance between Los Angeles and Las Vegas."

    SSBB Stage: Mushroomy Kingdom

"Ah, the Mushroom Kingdom. Most Smash players recognize this place from previous games in the series, where the world was represented in a pixel-art style reminiscent of the original Super Mario Bros.

But why the "y" on the end of "Mushroom"? What’s the difference?

This time around, we’ve designed a stage that recreates the layout of World 1-1 in Super Mario Bros.—but with rich backgrounds added to the mix.

The kingdom you once knew has turned to ruins over the long years, and it is n..."
