Analyst: Soon We Will All Be Gamers
"The average age of a video game customer now hovers around the late twenties to early thirties. The variation on either side of that average reveals a fascinating picture, too. Many of the first generation of child gamers now approaching their forties have children of their own. Whole families now gather around a game console, just as in previous generations the family gathered to watch a video or Morecambe & Wise on TV or to play Monopoly together.
If you don't play videogames, you may co..."

Delicious "1UP Mushroom" Mushroom Burger!
"This instructable was inspired by Barry Rosenstein's The Red Fez Burger from Build a Better Burger Challenge from the Food Network a few years ago. He colored his top bun red to look like a fez. I thought that was the coolest frakkin' thing ever.
For this instructable, I made my own veggie mushroom patties. They taste like okonomiyaki so it has like a soft fritter/pancake/omelet texture. Feel free to change according to your taste: Boca burger, Gardenburger, meat patties, or just a slab of..."

Super Mario Marathon for Charity!
"Brian Brinegar, a 29-year-old web developer from Lafayette, Indiana, and two of his avid gamers friends, Dan May and John Groth, decided to get together and play seven Super Mario Brothers games straight through the weekend for a good cause, the Child’s Play Charity.
The trio have been playing the original Super Mario Bro. all the way through to Super Mario Galaxy. Check out the fun while it lasts at Super Mario Marathon; and please give what you can, if you’re apt to do so! To date they’v..."

Master Chief made out of Balloons
"We'll admit to not following advancements in balloon animal technology, so we were understandably blown away to see this nearly life-sized Master Chief inflatable construction—clearly not an animal. This is the stuff of dreams and nightmares, the work of a balloonsmith known as Balloon Guy, a master of the latex folding arts. Based out of Provo, Utah, Balloon Guy says he'll make almost anything "as long as it's family friendly." He's also in possession of a rather dapper vest!

The Mario Family as explained by Japanese 1st graders
"According to my students, I learned the following:
1. Mini Koopa is Mario’s brother, stepbrother or cousin.
2. How height of someone is directly proportional to how old they are.
3. Mario’s father (or uncle) often kidnaps his own daughter (or niece).
4. It is up to Mario to constantly defeat his father (or uncle) to win the love of his sister.
5. Mario is possibly romantically involved with his sister.

How Nintendo Ruined Mario
"#5 Nintendo's overused "all-in-one" game token
We hope you love basketball, because so does Mario. In fact, he also enjoys baseball, tennis, kart racing, Mario Parties and golf, and we're 99 percent sure that Nintendo will add hockey and football to his bloated all-star sports resume someday. Look, we know he's the company's most recognizable mascot (Pikachu probably has something to say about that), but we could use a break from seeing his mustachioed, goofball mug on the cover of video gam..."

"Bioshock
This atmospheric first-person shooter game drew players in to a unique dystopian setting and broke ground with a storyline that forced players to make moral decisions.
Portal
One of the most original (and funny) games in recent history requires players to solve puzzles using a teleporting "Portal Gun." It also features a hugely compelling character in the computerized guide GLaDOS.

Nintendo's 2008 plans: Includes a new Zelda game and Super Mario Galaxy sequel!
"Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto is interviewed in the latest issue of Famitsu. While the interview, which was done to commemorate the magazine reaching issue number 1000, is mostly reflection, Miyamoto did give a few hints on future plans.
First, the Balance Wii Board, the peripheral that's included with Wii Fit. The magazine noted that Wii Fit has been quite the success story for Nintendo so far. To this, Miyamoto responded that if the game sees success overseas as well, Nintendo may end up r..."

Super Mario Galaxy is IGN's Game of the Year
"Although it had hefty competition, we selected Super Mario Galaxy as our Game of the Year because the spectacular platformer embodies the very best attributes of old-school game design -- namely, unsurpassed pick-up-and-play control and highly engaging, clever in-level challenges. Moreover, Galaxy truly feels like the spiritual successor to Super Mario 64 thanks to its homages to classic Mushroom Kingdom faces and places, and at the same time its new outer space theme nurtures an entirely fre..."

2007: An historic year for videogames!
"The critical popularity of flagship titles, mixed with continued fan attraction to established franchises and the introduction of valuable new IPs (intellectual properties), has also led to considerable commercial success. Software sales are on the rise to the tune of around $10.5 billion (through October) in the United States, while the UK gaming market has taken a total of around £1.52 billion during 2007."

GamingShogun Takes on TIME's Top Ten Games of 2007
"Now, far be it from me to disagree with Time...I have to call shenanigans on a few things here. First: Halo 3, while a great game, is not as good as BioShock. Halo 3 is still plagued by problems seen in previous games where both level design and gameplay are concerned. BioShock, on the other hand, was a superb gaming experience and should have easily been the top of the bunch on the list."

The Mario Galaxy Boxart that SHOULD have been ...
"Some new wallpapers have turned up on the Japanese Mario Galaxy site. What, you don't care about something as trivial as that? You're right, we're sorry. Nintendo news is, after all, serious business. You probably think this picture is awful, hate both Mario and kittens and most definitely won't be clicking on it for a bigger version.
Kotakuite TaeK was nice enough to actually mock up what the cover would look like using this art. Go on, have a look. We give it two thumbs up. And then some."

Reggie talks Wii on Fox News.
"
I've never watched the new Fox News Channel. But if this interview with Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime is any indication, I don't need to watch. The interviewer can hardly say Reggie's title (chief operating officer) and she talks about how it's exceeding "anticipation" (I think she meant expectation). My favourite part, though, is when they post the Super Mario Galaxy metacritic at the bottom of the screen (a 96)."

These lucky folk who were able to walk into their local Best Buy and walk out with a wrapped copy of Super Mario Galaxy not only win what is sure to be the best Wii game of the year (Sorry, Metroid Prime 3. We still BFF?), but also our unadulterated hate. Why? Because our local Best Buy is closed at the time of this report.

Gamespot Review: "If ever there were a must-own Wii game, Super Mario Galaxy is it."
"Here is the game that Wii owners have been pining for, a game that has tons of appeal for both the less experienced player and the longtime gamer. A game that deftly combines accessibility and challenge, all wrapped up in a package that's both deep and addictive. Super Mario Galaxy is all of this and more. It is simultaneously one of Mario's best adventures and a game that doesn't require fandom of the portly plumber's previous engagements to appreciate. The sheer quality of Mario Galaxy's wo..."

The Greatest Platformer Ever? - Super Mario Galaxy IGN Review
"Super Mario Galaxy is one of the greatest platformers I have ever played, Wii's best game, and an absolute must-own experience. And to me, this odd trek through space really does feel like the true sequel to Mario 64. It harkens back to the N64 classic with nostalgic faces and places from the Mushroom Kingdom, but it also re-invents the franchise with new space-themed mechanics and fresh Wii-enhanced controls. It is, as I have said since I first played it, a near-perfect combination of old pl..."

Mario Galaxy - Get past the dull intro, and the rest is fantastic!
"Before popping in Super Mario Galaxy this afternoon, I had to dust my Nintendo Wii. Besides the occasional Wii Sports game, the machine hasn't gotten much use. It's kinda just sat there in the living room, waiting for games — not mini-games, but games. After an unnecessarily long drought, the games are finally starting to hit. Third party-wise Zack & Wiki, which is fantastic, dropped, and today sees the release of Super Mario Galaxy in Japan.

E3 Trailers: Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Fire Emblem GoD, Endless Ocean... and more!
"Most of Nintendo’s E3 trailer coverage centred on games we’ve been waiting ages for, which included Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, and Endless Ocean.
Along with those came the likes of Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn, Mario Strikers Charged, Donkey Kong: Jungle Climbers, Donkey Kong: Bongo Blast, Rayman Raving Rabbids 2: Around the World, and two new official peripherals called the Wii Wheel and the Wii Zapper."
