Electronic Theatre's admin team have reported that SquareEnix have just confirmed that Star Ocean: The Last Hope WILL make it to European shores. "2009" is the only date they would give.

With the Tokyo Game Show currently underway at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan, Square Enix has opened the official site for tri-Ace's upcoming RPG, Star Ocean: The Last Hope for the Xbox 360. There are profiles for Edge Maverick, Reimi Saionji, Faize Sheifa Beleth, and Lymle Lemuri Phi, along with screens of the battle system and the Sight In/Sight Out system.

You can check out a trailer here. Star Ocean 4 will release in Japan on February 19, 2009, and in North America on March 3, 2009.

"We're going to take advantage of our booths being side-by-side, because both the Square Enix and Microsoft booths are working in tandem. This time around, we're putting the greatest importance in getting the largest number of visitors to play our games. At the Microsoft and the Square Enix booths, we're holding a lottery. With the game being playable in a couple days at Tokyo Game Show 2008, Square-Enix have released new artwork for the game showing the characters of the game. Be sure to check the source for all the artwork.

With the Tokyo Game Show 2008 fast approaching, Microsoft have released the list of games that they will be showcasing which includes 23 playable games and 3 videos. Big-name games such as Star Ocean 4 and Fable 2 will be on hand at the event and can be played by those willing to wait in the queue for hours...

"Back on Monday, Square Enix announced its big Tokyo Game Show plans. The company hadn't then decided in what form The Last Remnant and Star Ocean 4 would take at the show — whether they'd just be new trailers or actually playable. Well, Square Enix has made of its mind and yes, both games will be playable on the TGS show floor. Not only that, there will be trailers, too. So when you're not playing, you can be watching. And when you're not doing that, you can be doing other things."

Star Ocean 4: The Last Hope is set to release in 2009. It is currently only confirmed for the Xbox 360.

"It looks as if 2008 is set to be the year of the role-playing game. Earlier this year Mistwalker's Lost Odyssey was released on the Xbox 360, and Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors was recently released on the Wii. Portables also picked up some action, with titles including The World Ends With You and Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings coming to the Nintendo DS.

Today is the day of Microsoft's RPG Premiere 2008 in Japan, where the company is unveiling new RPGs to the console in an attempt to bolster the Xbox 360's pitiful last-place position in Japan. Most, if not all of the titles revealed today should make their way over to the West.

One of the new game announcements at this event is Star Ocean: The Last Hope, previously only known as Star Ocean 4. The game debuted with a CG-only trailer at the event. Originally thought to be a PlayStation 3 ...

"Tonight's Microsoft Japan RPG press event wasn't all about announcements. There were videos, too! Here's two of them. Above, a trailer for Squeenix & Tri-Ace's Star Ocean 4, helpfully (and relatively tastefully) dubbed in English for all us English-speaking sorts. After the jump, an Infinite Undiscovery clip that takes the old trailer, keeps the cheese and throws in a few new scenes to try and hold your attention."

We have scans, scans and some more scans. 4 In total actually, and they are all for the hotly awaited Star Ocean 4 which is slated for the PS3.

Whilst the information is in Japanese, it's still has a 'wow'-factor for the Star Ocean 4 fans.

Some scans for the next installment in the Star Ocean have surfaced from Famitsu Weekly.

Fans of the series should be happy to know longtime developer on the series tri-Ace will be working on this one, which will be more sci-fi based (you'll be able to control your own ship and travel to at least five different planets). The game takes place a few centuries before the original.

A platform or release date have still not been announced for the game.

From what most likely is the promotional DVD that comes with Star Ocean: Second Evolution for the PSP, we get three trailers for the three upcoming tri-Ace projects: Valkyrie Profile: The Accused One, Star Ocean 4 and Infinite Undiscovery. Both the Valkyrie Profile and Star Ocean 4 trailers are new, while the Infinite Undiscovery trailer is old.
