Five ways that Nintendo can bring Metroid back into 2D
"Some established franchises just feel more natural in 2D. Even though I love the Metroid Prime series, I still long for the polished 2D gameplay of the earlier installments. Just for fun, I wanted to think about five different projects or ideas that would suit Nintendo just fine in filling the 2D drought that we have experienced since the GBA Metroids. If you have more ideas, I’d love to hear them"

Nintendo shoots down Metroid Prime Trilogy on Wii rumor
"Nintendo has denied internet reports that the Metroid Prime Trilogy in its entirety is coming to Wii.
According to GoNintendo, a tipster claimed that the computer system of a retailer had a new Wii game listed as 'Metroid Prime Trilogy'.
Internet speculation jumped to the obvious conclusion that Metroid Prime 1, 2 and 3 were being repackaged as one and the GameCube games were being revamped for the console.

Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Wii!
"You guys know how I am with our GoNintendo Mole. I don’t hear from him too often, but when the mole gets in touch, I listen. This news is 100% rumor for now, but that doesn’t make it any less juicy.
Word has it that a certain retailer had a SKU pop up in their computer systems for a Metroid Prime Trilogy on Wii. What could this title be? Well, I would expect it to be Prime 1, 3, and 3 all on the Wii…but Prime 1 and 2 with all-new Wiimote controls. I love Metroid, but I really don’t know if..."

"Director of such films like Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Windtalkers, and Mission: Impossible 2, John Woo is world renowned for his deliverance of top notch action and slow motion cut scenes.
Supposedly, John Woo is to announce a new Metroid film at Comic Con this year. One image has been popping up over the Internet featuring Samus' helmet and the date, May 2, 2009. John Woo bought the rights to make a Metroid film back in 2004, but no other announcements have been made since."
