Left 4 Dead Updates!
"Well, it's been a couple of weeks since we updated the blog, and we thought it was time to let you know why we've been so quiet. The last couple of weeks we've actually been moonlighting on Left 4 Dead. While the L4D team has been focusing on finishing up the core cooperative gameplay, we've been helping them by working on their Versus mode. Versus is the recently-announced competitive mode where one team plays the Survivors and one team plays the Infected. We've learned a lot while working o..."

PC gamers are the hardcore gamers?
"It is well established that this generation of gaming platforms are for different gamers. The Xbox was for your online community gamer, Playstation for your Asian style games and Nintendo for casual gamers. And then there was PC. The venerable gaming platform has suffered from a complex recently, with analysts predicting everything from its death by console in the imminent future, to it being the only platform available within a console generation. With the latest games requiring costly upgra..."

"50-50" chance of Left 4 Dead on PS3
"Valve doesn't do PS3. The company's co-founder Gabe Newell isn't a fan, and hasn't been afraid to say so. But Valve's Doug Lombardi has told CVG today that PS3 support could be on the cards as the platforms recent success has raised some eyebrows.
"So whether or not you like developing for that platform, if they've got millions of people connected to that platform and buying their games you have to take it seriously.""

Valve's Doug Lombardi: Left 4 Dead PS3 Version Not In Development!
"This Saturday we've reported about the PC/X360 shooter Left 4 Dead possibly winging its way to the PlayStation 3. The scoop, which was actually a blurb in the latest issue of OPM, indicated that Electronic Arts would take on the task of porting the game to Sony's console.
As it turns out, the story was bogus, at least according to Vavle's Doug Lombardi, who made the following statement to clarify things: "There is no PS3 version of Left 4 Dead currently in production." Nicely said.

Left 4 Dead Playstation 3 Port To Be Done By EA?
"The survival-horror themed shooter Left 4 Dead is coming along nicely and is set to hit Xbox 360 and PC platforms on November 4, 2008. Today, we've found out that EA is going to assume the responsibility of porting the FPS to the PlayStation 3 (similarly to the The Orange Box). The scoop comes from a tiny blurb in latest issue of OPM."

Third-party game absences at QuakeCon
"Is the economy weighing down on QuakeCon? Perhaps, and that might explain the absence of upcoming third-party games at the annual gaming bash in Dallas, Texas this weekend. Last year, QuakeCon featured a number of upcoming games, such as World in Conflict from Sierra and Left 4 Dead from Valve. This year there wasn't much, and while Activision was there in addition to industry heavyweights Intel, ATI, and Dell, there really wasn't anything new in terms of console or PC games."

Left 4 Dead impressions - It's awesome!
"Left 4 Dead is very much survival horror for the new generation, a white-knuckle paced take on zombie games. It's a step up in panic on par with the speed boost that the walking dead have been fortunate to receive via films like 28 Days Later and the Dawn of the Dead remake. Trying to not only keep pace with your squadmates—and ensure that they don't get ensnared by a zombie tongue—but also with the parade of rotting hordes forces the player to focus like a laser between safe rooms.

Left 4 Dead : A PS3 possibility
"Following confirmation from GDC that there were no plans in place to bring zombie shooter Left 4 Dead to PS3, Valve’s Doug Lombardi has said that no fat lady’s sung on a Sony port yet.
“If folks want to do a PS3 version, we’re open to talk with third parties about that,” he said.
The game is currently scheduled for release on PC and 360 only."

PC Games to Look Out for in 2008
"With this year's gaming harvest already played and beaten and filed away into memory like so many saves, it is time now to look on.
Past the bulbous shores of 2007, far off in the distant recesses of release schedules, lies the gone-golden bounty of untapped potential. And while many may slip their surly bonds and give flight to the year 2009, more still will cement their crusted plastic into delighted hands. Here we mark the prophecy of the PC legacy, a concrete, yet tumultuous hour of re..."

Left 4 Dead Preview
"At first glance, the concept is hardly what you'd call revolutionary. Players team up against masses of mindless monsters - actually ordinary people, transformed into zombies by a deadly virus. Yep, it's about as clichéd as it can get. But wait, don't go away yet, there's more about Left 4 Dead than meets the eye. It's not just another average multiplayer action game. This Xbox 360/PC shooter offers intense four-player cooperative play. While there's little to no tactical depth, Left 4 Dead d..."
