Lair Patch Allowing Analogue Control Now Available
The much wanted Analogue Control Patch for Lair (which was given fairly low scores since it required you to use the SIXAXIS's tilt) has now been released. With the new update you can now control the in-game dragons using the Analogue stick as opposed to moving the controller in the direction that you want the dragon to turn.
Will this help boost the ratings? Only time will tell...
Also note this is only available for Europe for the time being.

PSN leaked document proved true
"When we reported on the PSN Release Schedule leak story and the possible truth behind it, the dates and content listed were still only speculation. After recent revelations, it’s now clear that the schedule is in fact true.
The leaked European document was always potentially credible due to the correct date given to Warhawk: Operation Broken Mirror. Thanks to our very own Kelsey Hart’s digging into the Ratchet: Quest for Booty item on the list, further concrete reliability was added to the..."

Lair Analog Controls Confirmed For March
"I played Lair today and the controls wouldn’t work. Why? They reconfigured it for analog use. Now you can choose which controls you like. It’s too bad so many Lair owners balked at the innovation. It’s still good to have a choice. The patch will be available sometime in March for download.Â"

Lair soundtrack now on iTunes!
"First, it was announced last week that the soundtrack for Lair received a BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) Video Game Award nomination for best Original Score! Hopefully some of you have now unlocked and experienced all of the high-fidelity surround sound music in the Concert Hall within the game’s Extras, and can agree with the nomination. If you haven’t listened to the music in the Concert Hall, you’re really missing out—it’s fantastic in showcasing all of the nuances tha..."

Sony Defense Force At It Again - Lair is a 10/10
"I guess I just feel that there should be more substance to a review than just kissing up to it and the platform that it is on just because you are die-hard supporters. Maybe they really liked the game, but to be honest, I have a hard time trusting a site that is so blatently pro PS architecture, and that gave Bioshock a 5/10."

Sony couldn’t care less for Lair critics
"Reviewers can throw all the mediocre grades and scornful commentary they like at PlayStation 3 exlusive and critical flop Lair, because Sony still won’t give a toss. That’s according to SCEA PR boss Dave Karraker, who told Next-gen.biz that it’s the views of consumers that matter most."

Lair is just the start of the PS3-PSP link-ups, says Sony
"The ability to play PlayStation 3 dragon-combat game Lair on the PSP has generated plenty of headlines in recent days. What's gained much less attention, however, is the fact that the feature is potentially available for all PlayStation 3 games.
Indeed when checking up on the Lair situation with a Sony technical insider, we got the response: "It's a nice start. Over time, I'm sure we'll have more advanced features."

Sony Ignores Lair Reviews
""At the end of the day, I'll be interested in the consumers' response, because the consumer awareness for this title was so huge. I've spoken to any number of people who really like it, and there's other people that find it a challenge.""

Lair developers play the blame game
"Lair has not come out yet for the PS3, but this hotly anticipated game has already be destroyed by most reviewers. Now the development team has come out of their development foxhole, not to necessarily defend their game, but to start pointing fingers and casting blame. The interview they had on MTV's Game File was eye opening to say the least."

How To Avoid Lair's Motion Control
"I don't want to suggest that somehow the control magically becomes perfect. It doesn't. But the difference is palpable. I pulled up that infamous first bridge level, and suddenly I was actually able to make the dragon go where he ought to. I can't imagine why this functionality isn't an option. I don't know if it's possible to play through the entire game like this. Certainly some key button features, like lock-on and rage mode, weren't mapped to the buttons on my pad."

IGN give LAIR a whopping 4.9 score
"It was somewhere in the neighborhood of my fourth pass over a bridge filled with two warring factions and a bunch of evil rhinos that I went from thinking Lair wasn't that bad to wondering if Lucifer himself pressed this Blu-ray disc in the pits of hell.
See, the time had come for my Asylains to draw up a peace treaty with a group of neighboring bad guys called the Mokai, but when the peace process soured, a huge battle erupted and I -- Rohn, one of the best dragon-riding sky guards around..."

Does The PS3 Game You Are Playing Make The Most Of It's Capabilities?
Given that the Playstation 3 currently doesn't have as many games available as the other consoles, it still does hold a fair bit of games. But are people making the most of the Playstation 3's capabilities? Well it seems that out of the many games that have been released only around 16 games so far are using the Playstation 3's SPE.
Whilst there may be more, the 16 games that are listed below have pretty much been confirmed to be using the PS3's SPE:

The ground combat was well done.
No mention of frame rate indicating it was stable.
They liked the epic scope of the game.

7 Games Saved By GTA IV Delay
The delay that has made many fans upset and angry, has also been a saviour for some game developers that no longer have GTAIV to compete with for christmas. Which will obviously mean that they will have more reason to release it before then, and will most likely be getting more notice from you than if GTAIV had released.
The games ofcourse are:

"Lair" Delay has nothing to do with Bad Reviews
"PlayStation 3 fans took a bit of a blow yesterday when it was announced that highly-anticipated dragon sim, Lair, has been delayed until September 4th. While Lair has looked suspiciously hit or miss for a while, even optimistic fans would be a little bit disappointed that an early review of the game by EGM has given it a pretty scathing assessment. Scoring an average of 5.5 out of 10, the game was called up on serious control issues due to an over-reliance on Sixaxis motion sensing controls. ..."

Lair Delayed. Overshadowed By Heavenly Sword?
"According to EB Games, Lair has been delayed until September 4th from it’s previously scheduled August 12th release date. Gamefly has also changed it’s release date, but they’re showing September 6th (most likely to account for getting enough copies in to rent to customers). Screenshots taken in case they change it back (EB Games above, Gamefly after the jump).
We’ve previously heard the game has gold gold directly from Sony. What could be causing the delay? Either they pulled the game to ..."

EGM Lair scores leaked, confirmed
"I am not much of one to make new threads, and I know that this has been posted in several posts in other threads. I still see people making posts that say that the scores are not real or confirmed. While I believe these scores to be not true scores basing my information on many other game previews. this is what EGM has rated the game. I just feel that I have to make this thread as a end to the debate of the legitimacy of the scores."

Lair Dev Is Complete
"Given all the content and interest here on Lair, I figured you guys would also be interested to hear that the North American version of Lair has completed its development and is now in manufacturing! That means that we are on track for our August 14 release date. It goes without saying that we’re eager to get this out to those of you that have been waiting so patiently (or not!) for it to arrive. Considering the new PS3 price and now Lair, hopefully there’s even more of a reason to scoop up..."

New Lair screenshots glide into view
"A new set of screenshots for the upcoming Sony PlayStation 3 exclusive, Lair, have been unearthed today, and they show off a title that seems to be growing in stature and scale every time GamerSquad sees it.
The texture detail, for example, looks massively improved over the last time we saw screenshots. Just check out that ominous tower surrounded by airborne beasts. The lighting is also looking amazing, with depth and realism in the fire effects and shadows. And those plumes of smoke?

E3 2007: Sony's Smaller Announcements
"With Sony's press conference in the past, we've created a roundup of all the small, but significant, announcements and confirmations. This year, Sony allowed very little time for the audience to ponder and absorb, so a lot of the groundbreaking revelations were not emphasised. This was of course a good thing, as it showed that Sony had a lot of things to say. So aside from the major announcements, such as MGS4, Haze and UT3 exclusivity, here are the other tidbits:

Trailer Park: Lair (Gameplay Overload)
"Lair, developed by Factor 5, the same studio behind the GameCube’s technically excellent Star Wars: Rogue Squadron titles, is a game that has long been lined up as one of the PlayStation 3’s big-hitters in the build-up to Christmas 2007. Today, three fresh, gameplay-rich videos of the title appeared, more or less reinforcing the two things we knew about Lair already. One: it looks dazzling. Two: GamerSquad wants it badly. Really, really badly."

Lair Release Date Announced
"You see that date up there my friends? That’s the date that PS3 owners will be looking forward to because not only does it mean the long awaited, highly anticipated Lair comes out, but it also is the date where the PS3 software “drought” officially ends and the good games begin to roll out.

Factor 5's advice for cross-platform developers? Make the PS3 version first.
"Factor 5 president and co-founder Julian Eggebrecht has stated in previous interviews that his team's decision to make their upcoming game Lair PlayStation 3 exclusive was based completely on the power of the console and nothing else. Still, even without knowing that, it takes just one brief conversation with Eggebrecht to discover that he and the people he works with are strict devotees of technology. So, it comes as no surprise that, in a recent interview with the San Jose Mercury News, Egg..."

Factor5 - Lair ONLY possible on the PS3
"Julian Eggebrecht
President, Factor5
"The very basic fact is you could not do this engine completely as you see it there on any other system but the PS3.
We've got so much physics running, so much animation running, we've got the levels with 25,000 soldiers where we have to simulate the army combat which is going on the ground. We've got all these dragons being animated of course. To pull off this world scale.

Preview: Lair; PS3 dragon shooter
"Though Lair has been in the public eye over the past few months thanks to interviews and the occasional batch of new media, new content for the game itself had been hidden away in development since last year's Tokyo Game Show appearance. Lair For The PlayStation 3: A Q&A With Factor 5 Chief
I’ve known Julian Eggebrecht, president of game developer Factor 5, for quite a while. He’s always eager to talk about the most technical stuff at game conferences such as the Game Developers Conference or the Dice Summit. But I’ve never had a chance to do a sit-down interview with him until now. Eggebrecht, a native of Cologne, Germany, has run Factor 5 for a long time, mostly as a developer of Star Wars games for LucasArts. But with the disappointment of the GameCube, Factor 5 has now branc...
