"Here is an image I did for Official Playstation Magazine UK which is in their latest issue. I had a hard time getting it to look exactly like the game model because I started out with an illustration that I realized later was a bit different than the game. So after the fact, I started messing with it to try to get him closer to the game model.

This image involved a lot more illustration on my part than the other ones too since I was changing the lighting compared to my source image.

"Grand Theft Auto IV's Liberty City is roughly based on New York. Lots of movies are filmed in New York. Here we try and recreate some of Hollywood's New York-based movie scenes using locations from GTA IV. Check out our handy work...

The Film: 1979 flick The Warriors depicts a Brooklyn street gang who find themselves in the Bronx being hunted by every other gang in New York. After fighting their way thorough the Bronx and Manhattan the Warriors return to Coney Island.

Well they show locations of three items Pigeons, Armours, Weapons, Unique Stunts, Health Pick ups, Entertainment Areas, AND MORE... images of some of the maps follow...

"Rockstar has been spending big bucks on GTA IV advertisements lately, and with the release date just a week away, a brand new mural has appeared in Downtown Los Angeles. Possibly the largest GTA IV mural to date, the massive paintings are located on the side of the Hotel Figueroa at the corner of Figueroa St. and Olympic Blvd."

A user over at webshots, pallamallawa, uploaded photos of what appears to be a glossy foldable map from the PS3 version of GTA IV. Even if this is a fake it's pretty darn good.

Unfortunately at the moment webshots or the user has pulled the photos. Interesting to note is that Joystiq has also pulled the images from their post on the subject. Rockstar sending out cease and desists letters? Fortunately Kotaku still has the images (high-res).

"Rockstar released four new screens of GTA IV and they are looking really good. Each screenshot speaks volumes in their own way. The one above for example blew me away by the detail put into Liberty City. Just look at the multiple power lines that are run across the city (which by the way, I recall you can climb up those poles).

From what I can tell from these screenshots, it looks like we're all going to be indoors a lot this fall when GTA IV is released. And that's a good thing."
