Bad Company Will Get New Maps and Trophies
"Remember BattleField: Bad Company? Of course you do. Some of you are probably still playing it. If you aren't, then you soon might be because the game is due to get a shot in the arm before too long. After running a contest through which players could decide on which map pack DICE should start working on first, a post has gone up on the official blog to let us know that there will be other content coming when the map pack drops."

Australian Game Sales: August 18th-August 24th
"It's hard to say if the last week of the Olympics gave Segas' Beijing 2008 - The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games a boost, but that hasn't stopped the PlayStation 3 version of the game moving up four spots from the previous week, into sixth spot. The Xbox 360 version of Beijing 2008 also made it into the charts, though at the much lower position of number 10. Nintendo's Brain Training series are regular contenders in the charts, with Dr Kawashima's Brain Training: How Old Is Your Brai..."

PunkBuster is official Anti-Cheat software for CoD: World at War
"No surprise here, but PureBalance, the creators of the popular anti-cheat software PunkBuster have been contracted to provide anti-cheat counter measures for Call of Duty: World at War by Activision.
Although most of us are against multiplayer cheating, clients like PunkBuster usually add new and very annoying compatibility issues for the end user."

"Conquest Mode" for Battlefield: BC Coming For Free
"Made famous by Battlefield 1942, Conquest mode pits players against each other in a battle to eliminate the opposing team’s tickets. Players deplete their opponent’s tickets by one point per kill and can cause their opponents tickets to spiral downwards by capturing control points. Four maps that are currently available for online play in Gold Rush mode will be available to conquer with Conquest mode."

Impressions - Battlefield: Bad Company
"Over the last week I have been playing Battlefield: Bad Company (Xbox 306), and I have to say... I loved it. From weapon selection and variation to the interactive environment and the number of gadgets you get to use during the course of the game it was fantastic. The story line; four outcasts banding together to hunt down Mercenary Gold was very Three Kings like."

Here are some games that could keep you occupied over the Summer
"There are two types of video games -- Keepers, games so good you'll keep them for decades, and Flings, games you'll play for a few solid days before trading them for store credit.
These nine games round out our list of the 2008's best summer flings -- if summer camp taught us anything, it's that these hot, sweaty months between spring and fall are the perfect time for more casual relationships."

What does paying for Live get you?
"Until recently, Microsoft could brag about how Live was by far the most feature-complete online service on any platform, with a unified Friends list, the best online shop, voice and video chat as standard and a consistent and stable online experience. But in recent months there’s been a shift in the market, and even bigger changes are coming. Microsoft is the only player to charge for online play, and their policy has landed some of the best online games on the 360... but as PC and PlayStatio..."

Battlefield: Bad Company to Get A Conquest Mode For Free
"Battlefield: Bad Company drops gamers behind enemy lines with a squad of renegade soldiers who risk it all on a personal quest for gold and revenge. EA/DICE must still be reeling from the fan backlash over its weapon charging debacle as it announced at the EA Studio Showcase in London that a Conquest mode will be made available shortly after the game's release, for free."

Battlefield: Bad Company Paid DLC Weapons Made Free...Kinda
EA had presented gamers with the concept that "if you want these oh so smexy weapons, you'll need to lay down some $$ first!" which, to put it shortly, consumers would need to pay for the DLC of more and better weapons.
In an interview earlier today, EA's Karl-Magnus Troedsson, senior producer on Battlefield: Bad Company told of the companies decision to scrap that idea. I hear gamers rejoicing at this point. Hold your horses, lets not jump to conclusions, I'm not done yet. You will still ...

Destructoid join Sarcastic Gamer in boycott of Bad Company DLC
"Jim Sterling has acknowledged our open letter, and says he will take this issue directly to the folks at EA when he meets with them next week.
We are definitely aware of Battlefield’s proposed DLC, and promise to let out an almighty “WTF?” when Destructoid and EA next meet. We will most definitely share the concerns of our fellow gamers with Electronic Arts and do what we can to get to the bottom of this possibly nefarious scheme. Until then, let it be known that the notorious Destructoid ..."
