Give your mom video games for Mother's Day

The Don | May 11, 2008 | Blog | Misc
Can't figure out what to get your mom this Mother's Day? Too lazy to actually figure out what your mom likes? Well give her something you like and give her video games! GameSpy has picked out 5 family friendly games that your mom can enjoy.
Nowadays, we express our love through Walmart Gift Cards, Avon fragrance packs, and Sizzler buffet passes. It's safe to say, sons and daughters of the world, that we have pretty much dropped the ball; our mothers deserve more than cheap, foreign-made goods, irritating perfumes, and hazardous meals.

Unfortunately, we here at GameSpy don't really have a solution to this crisis of veneration. But we do have some suggestions. If you're anything like us, chances are your mother doesn't really share your passion for gaming. Understandably so: Until recently, you could count on one hand the worthwhile games capable of appealing to non-traditional gamers. But with the proliferation of the casual games market, the advent of the Wii, and the wholesale gaming-enfranchisement of regular folks thanks to stuff like Guitar Hero and Rock Band, the idea of the previous generation finding something gratifying in the world of games is no longer such a wild notion.

No thanks. I wouldn't want my mother to freak out.
Wonder how many gaming moms are there in the world, compared to gaming dads.

Well I think most of the gaming mums are those that marry gaming men and play MMO's etc with them. I realise that is a gross generalization but it is an opinion, so haters gtfo.

My mum already has Sims 2 and Guitar Hero. Try again. XP
(She nearly cried when Sims 2 had to be uninstalled because it "killed off" her "families". XD)

She's going through an Age of Empires obsession at the moment ... until she gets Mario Kart Wii, that is.

Wow, what an awesome Mum you have.

My mum almost never comes close to games unless she's confiscating them. She once watched me play Twilight Princess and said "That looks really good", but that's pretty much it.

My mom never got into games with us kids. She always enjoyed our latest pottery from ceramics class and homemade cards made with construction paper and crayons LMAO

Hey, where was this article a few days ago?? I would have rather got a game for Mother's Day than the plant which is now sitting in the bathtub, with the door closed, so the cats won't get it.

Could've used GTAIV, now that would have been a gift!

My mom only likes Lemmings, and she plays that pretty much. But she hasn't in a few years, so i think she's done with games.
She rather reads politics, watch news, and go on the PC and surf the web.
