Editorial: Halo's Not Killing Multiplayer, People Are Just Lazy

vortis | November 04, 2008 | Blog | PC Xbox
A counter-editorial about Halo 2 and 3 killing console multiplayer. The author writes that it's not the games that are messing up the online console arenas, but other developers who don't support their games well enough.
...tell developers to get off their lazy a****s and figure out if they want their multiplayer to be memorable. I think Halo's an easy scapegoat for people to target; it's popular. It's obvious that people aren't playing other games because of it. But maybe if we had a reason to play the other games, be it friends wanting to try something new, or developers making them fun, we would.

Thank you! People play Halo 2 and Halo 3 because its that bloody addicting and fun; and if other developers cant polish their multiplayer enough to draw in players, then too bad. Im not settling for lacklustre multiplayer thanks, I shall stick to the best.

I agree to an extent. However, the problem lies when people don't even ATTEMPT to TRY other games. How can people tell how well a game is supported, if they don't even check it out to begin with. Some people simply are that . . . biased I guess.

I agree with you 100%. Some people just don't give some games the chance they deserve.

Well then that's still the persons fault, not halo's.

There are a ton of games out there that need attention too, not just Halo 3. A true gamer would play more games instead of just limiting the disk drive to one game.

And the next counter-article will have a headline like "No Really, Halo 2 and 3 are Console Killers."
