    Instantly warping from a lively and colorful world to a desolate and post-apocalyptic world filled with these things was terrifying. I could still hear their piercing high-pitched screams that stunned Link in his tracks.

    Obviously you've never played it. It's not like hide from shit scary. It's oh shit I'm going to drown, shit, SHIT, SHIT....GOD DAMN IT...scary. It's nerve racking as hell.

    Take it with a pinch of salt man, if you read the description it's clearly not a list of the actual SCARIEST moments... Just the ones from games you don't expect them from.

  Could anyone, just by looking at the thumbnails of these and or reading the description of these vids: http://youtube.com/user/LoZFan88 tell me which one would feature the first encounter (the one that is mentioned in this article) with the redeads? I REALLY wanna check it out and could be bothered to watch a whole bunch of these vids to find it.

    Those probably won't do them justice. A skilled player can avoid them fairly easily.

  While I never experienced ECCO or Sonic drowning I did have a similar experience with the first Banjo Kazooie game. Every time I fell in the water of Rusty Bucket Bay and the shark came after me with that music I would literally freak out.
